A festival for whisky fanatics

WHISKY lovers brought their taste buds along to the three-day 2013 FNB Whisky Live Festival at the Sandton Convention Centre.

There were tasting halls where a vast selection of the best whiskies were available for sampling. The venue was also home to educational and entertainment zones. “Whisky is now exciting and youthful,” said Dave Broom, a writer and whisky fanatic.

Global master distillers revealed the secrets that go into every drop of their brew at the whisky workshops, and networking and socialising took off at the whisky hospitality lounges.

Sally du Plessis, a festival-goer said, “I have discovered some interesting whiskies and I am sure I will be adding whisky to my shopping basket.”

More whisky festivals are set to take place next year in Cape Town, Nelspruit and Durban.
