Beware of crime hotspot on William Nicol Drive

MOTORISTS have been warned about a crime hotspot at the William Nicol Drive and Republic Road intersection.

The Randburg Sector One Community Policing Forum held an awareness campaign at the intersection. It was aimed at warning motorists to be conscious of their safety when they approach the intersection. “The corner of William Nicol Drive and Republic Road is a major crime hotspot at the moment and we need to make people aware of this,” said the forum’s Stacy Roberts.

Flyers were handed out to motorists at the intersection and posters with messages of caution were on display. Motorists were encouraged to keep their doors locked and their windows closed at all times. They were also encouraged to keep their valuable belongings inside the boot of their cars and not on the passenger seat. The campaign was supported by the Randburg police and the Metro police.
