False fire alarm at Gautrain Sandton

Gautrain Sandton experienced a false fire alarm at the station in the early morning of 18 September.

According to Errol Braithwaite, the general manager for the Bombela Concession Company, all services were running smoothly.

“These things happen from time to time. It could be dust that set it off. Just like a house alarm goes off, so does the Gautrain alarm,” said Braithwaite.

The alarm was reset and no trains or services were interrupted.
