Not a ‘hole’ lot of fun

A large hole is blocking the walkway on Peter Place Road in Sandton.

The hole is situated between City Lodge and Engen, and according to councillor David Potter, it was dug by Joburg Water and has not been filled in for a month. “Joburg Water dug the hole, fixed the pipes and are still waiting to see if the leak is fixed,” said Potter.

Pedestrian Sharon Ndlovu, who uses Peter Place Road as a regular route was not happy.

“I thought it would be quick to fix. I cannot walk where the cars are passing. There is no space,” said Ndlovu.

Potter said, “Joburg Water committed to sending a team to backfill last week. Let us see if they fix the paving too.”
