Six arrested by the Sandton police

RIVONIA - Six men, aged between 27 and 54, were arrested by the Sandton police on 9 July, at around 9.30pm in Sandown.

They were alleged to be in possession of suspected stolen property. Sandton police spokesperson Captain Kim Cloete said the police were alerted to the suspects’ suspicious activity by a community member who saw them loading a large amount of scrap metal into a parked van on Rivonia Road, just outside the old Alexandra Forbes building, at around 9pm.

“The police acted quickly on that information, leading to the arrest of the six suspects,” said Cloete.

The suspects appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 11 July.
