Ferrari owner robbed in driveway

HYDE PARK - A Hyde Park resident was lucky to keep his Ferrari after being the victim of a Rolex Gang-style robbery in his driveway.

According to Bramley police spokesperson Warrant officer Moses Maphakela, the man was was returning home in his Ferrari on 29 June shortly after midday. He said, “He opened the gate and went inside the yard. Before he could park he saw three men armed with pistols.” He said the men were holding a security guard, who had been manning the gate, at gun-point. The suspects were wearing balaklavas and could not be identified.

He reported that they demanded the resident’s wallet which contained R1 000 in cash and his wrist watch, valued at R80 000. They also took the resident’s car keys and garage remotes.
