Motorist dies in accident on the M1
A accident just before peak hour traffic on the M1 South claimed another life on 26 August.

According to eyewitness Frank Ferreira, a car was speeding before sliding across the road and rolling down an embankment.
Paramedics and various authorities were quick to respond to the scene, but one of the car’s occupants perished.
Vanessa Jackson, spokesperson for ER24, said that according to witnesses, the vehicle appeared to have gone straight from the fast lane and swerved through the traffic, crashing through the barrier and down the embankment.
The sedan landed in a ditch down the embankment in a crumpled mass.
Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle and were found lying several metres from the wreck.
The surviving passenger is in a critical condition, and was transported to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital by ambulance.
Paramedics and fire-fighters carried the patient up the embankment to the waiting ambulance.
The sedan was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
