Scores of community members, school learners and fun lovers from Marlboro and surrounding communities had an opportunity once again to attend this year’s prestigious fun day at Marlboro Combined School.
Children participated in different games which they normally have to travel to play while parents indulged in music from local artists and food sold by local vendors.
According to teacher and head organiser of the event, Johannes Jason, the objective of the event was to raise funds. “Today we are having our seventh fun day annual event as a school to raise funds for the school and help underprivileged learners who cannot afford to pay their school fees because our school is a fee-paying school,” Jason said.
“This year we have invited hip-hop artist Letlhogonolo Molefe famously known as ’25K’ to perform and add some fun to the event.”
Letlhogonolo ’25K’ Molefe urged his fellow music artists to lend a helping hand to underprivileged children and give back to the community. “I am one of those who relate when it comes to events of this nature that are aimed at helping someone in need,” Molefe said.

“I grew up in a township where I witnessed some of my peers unable to pay their school fees because of the situation back at home. These are the kinds of events that need to be encouraged in society.”
