Argument turns into ‘murder’ in Bryanston

BRYANSTON – The victim was stabbed in his upper body.

An alleged argument at a restaurant in Bryanston led to a victim being stabbed and who later succumbed to his injuries.

Randburg police’s spokesperson Captain Maja Makgowanyana said on 1 March in the early hours of the morning, police were called to a hospital to open a case of assault to cause grievous bodily harm.

The victim, about 27 years old, had been stabbed in the upper body with an unknown object after an alleged argument in the restaurant.

Maja added that the case was transferred from Sandton Police Station to Randburg police.

Shortly after that, the hospital called to inform the police that the victim had succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect was traced and a case of murder had been opened. “Once he is formally charged, he will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ court soon,” said Maja.
