Help Topsy continue their good work
BRYANSTON – The foundation focuses on providing a variety of services to communities in Mpumalanga.
The Topsy Foundation, a non-profit company based in Bryanston, assists three communities in Mpumalanga and aims to continue assisting providing early childhood development despite tough economic conditions.
The public benefit organisation is on a mission to work with early childhood development (ECD) centres through initiatives that support children to unlock their full potential.
Topsy was founded in 2000 and provides relief services to some of South Africa’s most under-resourced rural communities in Mpumalanga. Since 2014, Topsy has been focusing on supporting and contributing to early childhood development centres, based within the community of Dipaleseng, Grootvlei region.
Topsy, in partnership with 20 of these centres aim to provide these disadvantaged rural communities with the support and tools needed to raise happy, healthy and capable children. This includes nutritional support, health screenings, and parental skills among others.
The need in the communities is enormous and nearly every household in the three communities needs assistance. However, due to a weak economy, funding on which they are reliant is limited, making it impossible to reach every child in need.
As the year draws to a close Topsy would appreciate any financial donation from corporates and individuals. With additional funding, the foundation can continue to mentor the ECD site heads, reach more children through their play and learn centre and engage fully with parents of children who are not in ECD centres.
Additional funding would also allow for the implementation of a programme aimed at pregnant mothers. The programme would educate expecting mothers on the importance of good nutrition during pregnancy, guidance on breastfeeding and allow for the provision of services such as quality medical care, check-ups and antenatal classes.
There are various ways you can help, the priority being monetary donations, which can be given via various payment platforms, through volunteering or through various rewards and fundraising programmes.
