SANDTON – Two learners from Montrose Primary School were recently awarded for their achievements.

Two learners from Montrose Primary School were recently awarded for their academic achievements.

Jonathan, a Grade 6 learner joined Montrose Primary School in January 2013 in Grade 1.

According to Sonette van Loggerenberg, principal at the school, it was evident from the beginning, that Jonathan would achieve exceptional results academically and added that he has truly made his mark, both at school and outside of school. “The children had to learn 1 045 words for the first round, which was school level.”

Van Loggerenberg said Jonathan made it through from school level, to cluster level, thereafter to district level and finally to provincial level where the spelling was tested orally. Jonathan came 15th at the provincial level.

She added that Jonathan is a true role model and inspiration to both his peers and younger learners at the school. “Jonathan continues to excel and his work ethic is one to be admired. Not only does he manage to excel academically, but still makes time to participate in cricket, soccer, chess and the school production.”

Van Loggerenberg said she is very proud of his achievements.

Some of Jonathan’s achievements in 2018 alone, include:
