Do you feel safe doing your shopping in malls across Johannesburg?

Do you feel safe doing your shopping in malls across Johannesburg bearing in mind the shoot-outs and robberies that have taken place recently?

We asked residents and this is what you had to say…

MIRANDA TRINDAD: I generally feel safe, but I’m cautious at malls. If you shop just before Christmas, it is high risk. I’m selective about where I shop.
LOUISE PIENAAR: I feel safe because nothing has happened to me before. It’s important to keep your wits about you and take precautions. Crime is a reality we can’t ignore.
GIVEN MOKOATEDI: I don’t feel safe. I am scared because there are so many criminals these days. The security police don’t do their jobs and this makes me nervous.
JACOB KRUGER: I’m not feeling paranoid. Crime is a worldwide problem that’s not unique to South Africa. I think visible policing is a deterrent that works.
