Celebrating Diwali in Sandton

SANDTON – Crawford Preparatory Sandton recently held a concert to celebrate Diwali.

Crawford Preparatory Sandton recently held a concert, themed according to ‘Maa’ or Mother, to celebrate Diwali.

After an opening prayer, the Grade 7s performed on the stage and educated audience members about the festival of Navratri, which means nine nights, and how it celebrates the Hindu goddess Mother Durga.

The youngsters put on a fantastic concert which showcased their talent and hard work.

Shiva Shrivastava, Hindu teacher at Crawford Preparatory Sandton said, “May the Festival of Lights bring lots of joy, peace and prosperity to everybody and to their families. Have a great Diwali.”
