Sandown principal shot and killed

SANDTON – A memorial service for slain Sandown High School principal will be held on 2 August at the school.

 

The principal of Sandown High School in Sandton, Pule Kgarasi was shot and killed on 30 July.

Steve Mabona, spokesperson for the Gauteng Department of Education has confirmed that Kgarasi was shot and killed in the early hours of the morning. Attempts to contact the school have been unsuccessful.

Gauteng MEC for Education, Panyaza Lesufi has extended condolences to Kgarasi’s family.

Pule Kgaratsi was appointed principal of Sandown High School in October 2015.

“The department condemns this criminal act and extends sincere condolences to the family of Mr Kgarasi, and the entire school community of Sandown High School,” he said.

Mabona said a memorial service will be held on 2 August at 12pm at the school. Details surrounding the shooting are unknown and updates will be provided as they are made available.
