Sandton police arrested one suspect and launched a manhunt for three others following a business robbery at a second-hand shop in Woodmead shopping centre.
The incident took place on 13 July at about 1 pm. According to Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station all four suspects entered the store. “One of the suspects was allegedly armed with a handgun and ordered the staff to lie down. The suspects took electronic appliances from the shelves,” said Mothapo.
“Three of the suspects managed to get away, but one suspect in his 20s was arrested after being shot in the lower body by a security guard.”
Mothapo said the suspect was taken to the hospital and was under police guard. The stolen items were recovered. Anyone with information that would lead to the arrest of the three suspects can contact the Sandton police on
