WATCH: Entertainment area of a Bryanston home goes up in flames
BRYANSTON – Fire gutted the entertainment area on the property of a home in Devonshire Place on Saturday evening.
The entertainment area on the property of 74 Devonshire Place was in flames on the evening of 8 July. City of Joburg Emergency Management Services spokesperson Nana Lindiwe Radebe said they received a call at 6.10pm on Saturday informing them that the entertainment area was on fire.
Radebe said, “Fortunately there were no casualties. Randburg, Sandton and Rosebank Fire Stations responded to the fire, with Randburg arriving at 6.25pm. It took fire departments until 9pm to extinguish the fire.”
The entertainment area was thatched and not attached to the main house. Radebe added that while the entertainment area was gutted, the fire did not extend to the rest of the house.
Radebe said the cause of the fire could not be determined. Investigations are continuing.
