The Grade 3s of Crawford Preparatory Sandton recently participated in a science day where they got to explore and experiment with different substances.
From dancing ‘ooblek’ that boogied to certain types of bass sound waves, to homemade lava lamps, super bubbles, Coca-Cola volcanoes and snowflake crystals, the schoolchildren engaged in fun and innovative activities which helped them to further explore properties of different materials and how they work together to create exciting chemical reactions.

They were also encouraged to conduct further research with adult supervision and observe if different materials mixed together would incur the same or a better chemical reaction than the original experiments.
Renowned scientist and inventor, Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”
