Inter-house fun at Hyde Park High

HYDE PARK – Hyde Park High have fun in the sun at inter-house athletics meet.

Hyde Park High School held their inter-house athletics day which was scheduled a bit later in the term to provide athletes additional time to prepare their fitness levels.

The matrics got into the spirit of the day and many races were run for old times’ sake, as it was their last formal school day ahead of their prelims. Two records were shattered with Lebo Malopa running the U16 100m in 11:32 seconds and Bill Qubeka running the U17 200m in a time of 23:84 seconds.

The field was in excellent condition for the athletes with a 400m circular track, an eight-lane 100m track and accurately measured relay points. In the end, Rutland house had a run-away victory with second place going to Marlborough followed by Leicester and lastly, Grosvenor.
