Another event for cancer warriors

SANDTON/FOURWAYS – Sandton resident, Addi Lang, will host an event on 27 August for cancer sufferers and survivors.

Addi Lang, a Sandton-based cancer survivor, has organised numerous events in the area for other cancer warriors.

These events are called The Dance of The Butterfly and form part of the Forever Changed Campaign, which aims to inspire, uplift and educate cancer sufferers and survivors.

The next event will be held at Montecasino on 27 August at 1pm with the aim to raise funds for an eight-year-old ‘brave cancer warrior’. Tickets are R450 per person.

Casey Kampel, an ambassador for the Forever Changed Campaign said, “I lost both my grandparents to cancer and my father and uncle are both brave forever changed warriors, so I understand that we are all affected at some point in our lives [by cancer].

“I have the honour of being an ambassador for the campaign.” Kampel added that she is delighted to be able to lend her voice to this worthy cause.

Lang said, “Emmanuel Castis, award-winning actor, singer and songwriter is once again the celebrity emcee who will also perform at the event.”

Musician, Cindy Alter, who is also an ambassador for the campaign, spoke extensively on the difficult choices ‘cancer warriors’ have to make on a daily basis. She said, “[I feel strongly about] how you choose to deal with your diagnosis [of cancer], how [you] choose to live through this journey while you are able.

“The one thing we as humans have is the ability to choose and I support this campaign because we all need to take responsibility for our choices.”

Lang aims to not only enlighten and inspire attendees but to also keep the atmosphere happy and excited. Guests can expect singing, dancing, inspirational speeches and will also view a cancer documentary.
