A healthy day of cooking
SANDTON – Canderal hosts a healthy, culinary day filled with sugar-free treats.
Guests were treated to a healthy cooking day in Sandton on 31 May to learn how to make sugar-free foods.
Canderal, a sugar substitute, created the Great Sugar Break-Up aimed at encouraging people to avoid sugar and sugary foods.
“It’s winter and it is common knowledge that warmth is what is craved and that includes hearty meals and sugary comfort food which quickly becomes the enemy when summer comes around. With the Great Sugar Break-Up, Canderel shifts the focus from overnight fixes to a sustainable healthy lifestyle while still enjoying the benefits of eating sweetened treats, home-cooked food and baking,” said Kirsty Roberts of Canderel.
It was an opportunity for guests to learn healthy, sugar-free recipes such as cheesecake and brownies. They were even taught how to make tasty savoury dishes such as chilli dipping sauce and chicken skewers.
Roberts believes that an individual’s health is of utmost importance and believes that people need to cut down on sugars to avoid diseases such as diabetes.
The event not only promoted health but was an opportunity for the attendees to have fun and cook together.
