Attendence at Alex animal care day overwhelms organisers
ALEXANDRA - The Sandton SPCA was overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of animal lovers who turned-up for their animal care day on 20 February.

As they could not attend to the large numbers of dog owners who turned up to have their pets vaccinated, de-wormed and bathed, the SPCA plans to hold another mobile clinic in Alex soon.
“We had such a wonderful animal care day and the numbers of pet lovers who turned up for the clinic took us by surprise and we had to turn many of them away. This has prompted us to organise another day as soon as possible in answer to the demand,” Lizzy Nkuna of Sandton SPCA in Marlboro said.
The date and venue of the next animal care day will be announced in due course once all the logistics have been put in place, Nkuna added.
She thanked all those pet lovers who pitched up on the day, especially those who could not get their pets attended to.
