Victory for residents on Lynn Close in Strathavon

STRATHAVON – The residents of Strathavon will finally feel victory now that the replacement of their damaged water pipes underway.

 

This according to Ward 91 councillor Andrew Stewart, who has been trying to correct the damaged water pipes for years.

“I have now been able to get Joburg Water to replace all water pipes on Lynn Close in Strathavon,” Stewart said.

“It required a long campaign to have Lynn Close included in the latest round of contracts issued.”

Stewart explained that Lynn Close was initially not included in the original water project.

“But Lynn Close residents have been affected more than others,” he said.

“They have endured flooded kitchens and damaged driveways for a number of years. Residents in this area have been plagued by water pipe bursts and I am extremely pleased that residents will finally be free of this ordeal,” added Stewart.”

People were seen onsite working on the water pipes.

Stewart also said residents living along Helen and Linden roads will also receive water pipe upgrades. Stewart has tried to get new pipes installed on Helen and Linden roads in Strathavon since 2011.
