Sandton police arrest 23 for various crimes

SANDTON – The Sandton police recently arrested 23 people for various crimes within the precinct.

 

The arrests were made for crimes ranging from theft and possession of drugs to fraud and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Sandton police, five suspects were arrested for shoplifting.

“The police also arrested 10 people for theft, two for fraud and one for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm,” Maphakela said.

A further one suspect was arrested for common assault, three for possession of dagga and one for possession of drugs.

Maphakela confirmed that all suspects were detained at Sandton Police Station and charged with the various crimes. They have since appeared in court to face their charges.
