JOBURG - Speciality coffee breweries are all the rage in Johannesburg at the moment and here’s why …
A small number of coffee breweries have popped around Johannesburg CBD, some of which include Double Shot cafe in Braamfontein and Origin in Maboneng.
These breweries use a number of methods to brew their coffee and City Buzz and Origin have posted a video to show readers one of these.
In the clip, Origin’s specially trained barista, Maqhawe Shabalala, shows City Buzz how to make pour-over coffee – a Japanese-style cup of coffee that is brewed using a specially designed carafe into which the coffee can be poured – using specially produced coffee beans, and a brew basket where the water slowly makes its way through the ground coffee.
