BRAAMFONTEIN – Hundreds of excited media guests, as well as a few VIP celebrities, flocked to 70 Juta Street in Johannesburg on 20 October to celebrate the launch of the song that will promote KFC’s new Popping Candy Krusher.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY: While celebrating the launch of the new KFC Popping Candy Krusher, the crowd also celebrated local musician Blayze's birthday on the night.
The spectacular event was held to launch both the new Krusher and the new track by local South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHA) nominated producer and musical artist Blayze, who collaborated with KFC and Audio Militia to create Get It Popping, which will be used in the advert to promote the new Popping Candy Krusher.
The new Krusher is a delectable combination of vanilla milk, crushed ice and bits of popping candy – a delight to the senses that transports you back to your childhood.
Guests on the balcony of the Neightbourgoods Market in Braamfontein were treated to KFC chicken, an open bar and even a candy bar. Once everyone had made their way up to the newly-opened bar, Thirteen, they were greeted with breathtaking views of Nelson Mandela Bridge and Johannesburg.
Blayze debuted the track with a spectacular performance alongside Audio Militia and helped the crowd #GetItPopping while cameramen roamed the crowd, filming scenes for the Get It Popping music video, which is soon to be released.
Guests where then invited to get involved by placing their KFC Popping Candy Krusher onto a weight sensor that was set into a uniquely designed table. The sounds were then recorded as MP3s, but the best part was, with every button that was tapped, a light lit up on the buildings in Braamfontein.
