How to avoid the M1 after bridge collapse

SANDTON -  The bridge that collapsed over the M1 on 14 October, may leave many motorists stranded in the commute traffic on Thursday morning.

The City of Johannesburg has said that parts of the highway will be closed off to  traffic while emergency services remove remaining rubble.

Commuters can use the following routes to get to and from their destinations:

– Leaving the CBD, motorists can use the R34

– Follow the R21 if going to Pretoria

– When trying to get out of Sandton, motorists can use Rivonia Road
