The 50th anniversary celebration of the South African Derby
KYALAMI - Riders, enthusiasts, friends and family gathered in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Galencia Property South African Derby at Kyalami Equestrian Park.
RIDE: Showjumpers at the 50th anniversary of the Galencia Property South African Derby are introduced to the crowd.
The anticipated equestrian event gave guests the opportunity to enjoy top-class showjumping, as 25 showjumpers competed for the prestigious showjumping title of winner of the SA Derby.
Showjumpers from across the country had worked the circuit all year to qualify for the competition, which is considered as one of the toughest courses in South African showjumping.
The 24 showjumpers battled it out on the 18-obstacle, 1 200m course, and it was Anne-Marie Esslinger who triumph with a clear score to win the R115 000 prize.
The equestrian event gave guests the opportunity to enjoy the finest food, music and fashion.
The derby is proud to have reached this milestone in South African showjumping history.
