Don’t let children’s dreams disappear
MONTECASINO - The Reach For A Dream Foundation treated the children of Nkosi Haven and Bethesda Salvation Army to a Slipper Day outing on 30 July.
The outing included the viewing of the Minion Movie, arcade games and a Wimpy lunch at Montecasino.
According to Bethesda Salvation Army caregiver, Veronica Nkone, the children had a wonderful day and they absolutely loved spending time with other children and had fun.
The caregivers from both care centers expressed their appreciation to the foundation for taking the children on such a fun outing.
“It is the first time that all these children have been to the movies and we are thankful that the foundation did not forget our children,” Nkone said.
The children were given a fluffy pair of slippers to wear in support of other children fighting illnesses.
Reach For A Dream is encouraging all South Africans to wear their slippers on 7 August. According to Bronwyn Feldwick-Davis, national marketing and communications manager at Reach For A Dream Foundation, Slipper Day is a fun way for people to contribute a small amount of money and make a huge difference.
“The theme campaign is, Don’t let their dreams disappear, and we need South Africans to come out in their numbers and buy a R10 sticker to support children’s dreams,” she said.
“If you buy a sticker, you can swap your regular work or school shoes for your favourite pair of slippers. We implore all South Africans to help us raise funds, please. All it takes is buying a R10 sticker at your nearest Wimpy.”
