Knitting craze comes to Rosebank Union Church

SANDTON - All lovers of knitting and crocheting for the cold and needy are invited to the Rosebank Union Church in Sandton on 30 May and 6 June.

Community members are encouraged to bring their wool and needles and join the social gathering initiative for charity. “We will have the opportunity to make some new friends and we can certainly learn from each other, and provide warm clothing and blankets for the cold and needy,” said Greta Collier, the organiser of the initiative at the church. “All husbands and children are most welcome,” she added.

She invites everyone to join her and the group of knitters to knit or crochet and create blankets or items of clothing, for either Rays of Hope, Carolyn Steyn’s 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela, Hotel Hope or any other charity.

The initiative takes place every Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm at the coffee shop located at the church premises.
