Screwdriver wielding robber arrested

Three suspects have been arrested after a man was robbed by another man, wielding a screwdriver.

The victim was walking along Mattie Street in Parkmore on 2 August when an unknown male approached him, threatening him with a screwdriver. The man demanded the victim hand over his possessions.

The suspect, who was then joined by a second suspect, robbed the victim of his cellphone, wallet and cash, before walking away.

The victim followed the two suspects and witnessed them climbing into a waiting Toyota Corolla and driving away. He then flagged down motorists, whose assistance drew the attention of police officers in an unmarked vehicle.

The officers immediately went in pursuit of the suspects. Both the robbers and the driver of the vehicle were arrested and later appeared in the Alexandra Court.
