SANDTON - In light of the latest energy crisis which has affected all people from different walks of life, and with Eskom predicting that this problem might continue for the next two years, Sandton Chronicle took to the streets to ask community members if they were made the president, how they would solve the current energy crisis.
Refilwe Mohale said, "I would make the ANC accountable for the money they stole, because that money could help to build more power stations. Educate people about other alternatives like solar panels and people should save electricity."
SANDTON – In light of the latest energy crisis which has affected all people from different walks of life, and with Eskom predicting that this problem might continue for the next two years, Sandton Chronicle took to the streets to ask community members if they were made the president, how they would solve the current energy crisis.
Sikhangele Bhuda said: “I would change the company or tell them to use generators in most places, such as malls. Power stations must be run by generators.”

Khathutshelo Rambau said, “The structure of the energy crisis has deteriorated.My solution is to upgrade the sub-stations.Structures are old, it’s not something that will be resolved in one day.”
Peter Allen Lund said, “Nuclear power can be the solution but it’s expensive. We must stop exporting electricity to other countries.”
Natly Nyahanana said, “Big companies must use generators, those who are open for 24 hours. We should budget electricity to save.”
Sindisiwe Msibi said, “I would try to put generators up, there is too much pressure on electricity. We should use generators to save electricity.”
Shardrack Ndlangamandla said, “Build new power stations. We are a developing country, we can’t go back to generators, we can also use solars optionally.”
Thendo Magau said, “Try to implement long-term goals, this fault is a result of short-term goals and poor planning. Also put the correct role players and get people with experience.”
Siyabonga Peter said, “Prioritise conservation so that we can prevent this crisis.”
Kgomotso Mangena said, “Fix the infrastructure and educate people about renewable resources and encourage them to use electricity wisely.”
Thabani Mthethwa said, “People must pay electricity, I think this thing of people not paying electricity is one of the underlying causes of the energy crisis. People must save electricity”.
