Suspects at large after Petervale robbery

PETERVALE – Police are on the lookout for two armed suspects driving a red VW Golf GTi.

This after they targeted a restaurant at Petervale shopping centre on 15 February just after 12pm.

Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson for Sandton Police Station confirmed that a case of armed robbery had been opened by complainants who stated that after they entered the restaurant, they were ambushed by two gunmen.

“The suspects ordered them to lie down,” stated Cloete. “Then the suspects proceeded to steal wrist watches, jewellery, an undisclosed amount of foreign currency and cellphones from the complainants.”

The gunmen then fled in the red vehicle.

A member of the Paulshof Security Initiative group on Facebook stated that the incident occurred at Tony’s Chinese Restaurant, but this was yet to be confirmed.
