JOBURG – Three people were injured in a taxi-related shootout which occurred on Woodmead and Maxwell drives at about 4pm on 4 February.

A taxi has broken windows due to gunshots.

Simba Murebesi (left), a car guard at Woodmead Corner shopping complex, says there were as many as 15 taxi drivers involved. His colleague, Godfrey Tshirenjani, claims to have heard six gunshots.

Captain Kim Cloete, communications officer at the Sandton Police, says the taxi associations need to sort out their route disputes themselves.
