Three shot, one arrested and vehicle burnt in taxi violence incident
SUNNINGHILL - Sandton police spokesperson Captain Kym Cloete said three victims were shot and one suspect was arrested in a a taxi violence dispute on Woodmead Drive in Sunninghill on 4 February.
Cloete said the taxi violence started just before 4pm on 4 February on Woodmead Drive, near to where the road becomes the R55 after Maxwell Drive.
She said three victims were shot and wounded. “One suspect was arrested on the charge of attempted murder and one firearm was confiscated,” said Cloete.
She said one taxi was burnt and another was damaged in the incident.
She said there was a strong police and Metro police presence on the road.
