Motorists warned following garage robberies
SANDTON - The Sandton police have issued a warning to motorists to manually ensure their vehicles are locked when stopping at a garage.
This following two incidents which took place at the Total garage on Sandton Drive in Parkmore.
According to Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson of the Sandton police, only one incident was reported to the police.
“We know of a case which took place on 19 January where valuables were taken from a white Range Rover just before 7am at the same station,” she said.
The second incident was recorded on CCTV footage and shows a man allegedly removing valuables from a white BMW, also just before 7am on 23 January.
