Smash and grab on Maxwell Drive

JOBURG - A Woodmead resident claims that he was driving on Maxwell Drive when his window was broken and his cellphone was stolen.

He said he had stopped at the robots when a man approached his car.

When he reached the passenger side of the car, the man smashed his window and grabbed the cellphone that had been visible from the window.

The cellphone was a Huawei Ascend valued at R1 200.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela confirmed that a case of theft out of a motor vehicle had been opened at the Midrand Police Station and that the case was still being investigated.
