Stationary taxi on William Nicol a cause for concern
HYDE PARK - A stationary taxi in Hyde Park is causing a headache for motorists using the road.

The taxi, facing oncoming traffic, was stranded on William Nicol and Second Avenue and appeared to be causing traffic congestion as motorists attempt to drive around it.
According to reports the taxi appeared to have been stationary for close to two hours.
Edna Mamonyane, spokesperson for the Metro police said despite the inconvenience it caused, no one could be penalised for such incidents.
“We won’t penalise anyone in this instance because the driver may have experienced a breakdown and gone to get assistance to remove the car,” she said.
She added that the Metro police would remove the vehicle from the road, should the driver not have it removed within a certain period, for the safety of other motorists .
