St Stithians College kicks butt

PETER PLACE - Three pupils from St Stithians Girls’ and Boys' Preparatory School in Sandton did exceptionally well at the Gauteng Karate Federation Provincial trials and championships.

Brother and sister, Nicholas (10) and Claudia Dobson (12) together with Emma O’Gorman (9) won medals at the provincial championships and have qualified to attend the Karate South Africa National Championships.

Claudia was placed first for individual kata, third for individual kumite and second for team kata. O’Gorman was placed third for team kata, and Nicholas was placed first for both individual kumite and team kata, winning double gold.

The three pupils will receive their provincial colours when they compete at the Karate South Africa National Championships.
