The hunt for Miss SA kicks off

SANDTON - The search for a new Miss South Africa has begun and the final open casting will take place at The Maslow in Sandton on 26 October.

The current Miss South Africa ambassador, Rolene Strauss, ends off her reign in March next year.

Other castings have already been held in Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. Registration will begin at 8am, and entrants are advised to get there early to avoid queues.

The contestants will need to bring their swim wear and sarong, an interview outfit, a copy of their ID document and matric certificate. Entry forms and a photographer will be at the castings should they be required.

The winner of the title will receive more than R1.2 million in prizes. The judges will be looking for someone with charisma, the quintessential South African girl-next-door who is not afraid to speak her mind and is passionate about her country. Contestants are encouraged to be themselves and to let their personality shine through.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not older than 27 years on 01 February 2015; be a South African citizen and have a valid South African ID document or passport, and be in possession of a matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
