Cross country race raises funds for charity

MORNINGSIDE - The Lycee Jules Verne School Johannesburg hosted a cross country race at the school in Morningside to raise funds for charity.

The event took place on 4 October.

According to Florent Moignard, communication officer at the school, the race was part of a fundraising effort taking place in other French schools in the country.

“The cross-country race is a traditional race held in every French school, including those in France, and our pupils from Grade 0 to 12 take part in it,” she said.

Moignard added the funds collected would be used to improve the facilities at a crèche, run by the school’s partner, in Orange Farm.

Other activities took place during the sporting event, including a car wash, sale of T-shirts and books among others.
