Coatings industry calling for abstracts ahead of 2015 symposium
SANDTON - As the Coatings for Africa symposium and expo draws nearer, participants are invited to submit abstracts ahead of the upcoming event.
The symposium is set to take place next year at the Sandton Convention Centre from 11 to 13 May and will host various participants from the African coatings industry.
According to Stefanie Pillay, part of the organising committee, participants taking part have until 15 October this year to submit their abstracts.
“The abstracts submitted will [then] be vetted by the Coatings for Africa Technical Committee which comprises of industry experts from across South Africa before being presented by the authors at the expo,” she explained.
Furthermore, Pillay stressed that the event aimed to contribute to the growth and advancement of the coatings industry and assists in promoting the use of sustainable products in the industry.
The event, hosted by The Oil & Colour Chemists’ Association and the South African Paint Manufacturers Association, will bring together the best of Africa’s coatings industry and will include over 100 exhibitors, 25 speakers and various African countries across Africa.
“Africa’s burgeoning coatings industry requires innovative paint and coatings solutions and a strong drive for education across the industry,” Pillay added.
